On the way to Vazhvanthol waterfalls, after 10-12 km from Vithura, there is forest check post. There is an entry fee for the trucking, which we need to pay at the check post to go further.  We need to walk about 2 km through forest to reach the lower waterfalls. There is no guard to get help you in the trucking, but you will get information about the place from the local people there. The upper falls is dangerous as there is a pond like structure just bottom of falls with plenty of water and the rocks are slippery.  The water is fresh and cool. Avoid swimming in upper falls if you don’t know swimming well. We can’t touch the ground in that pond as it is in very depth. There is a small rock at centre of that pond. It is very dangerous to try to reach there if you don’t know swimming well.

KTDC had started package tours to Vazhvanthol falls (1000 rupees for a team of 10 members).

TIPS AND GUIDANCE: The vehicle parking area is about 1 km away from the check post and have to pay 25 rupees for each vehicle. Please keep food and drinking water as much as possible.Summer season is the ideal time to visit the place as chances are high that water level may increase during monsoon and beware of monkeys. There is no forest guards; but still you will get some guidance from the locals.

NEAR BY: There is no restaurant or shops near Vazhvanthol. You can also visit Bonacaud estate on the way.Hotel Rohini International in Vithura (Phone: 0471 857337) were operating a daily package to Vazhvanthol including the guides and food (breakfast, Lunch and dinner) earlier. Lunch will be served within the forest itself, and that is a very good experience; especially once after you finished with the trekking. Their sheaf is really good, and you can enjoy Naadan Kappa,Meen curry with other dishes.
